We are a Kentucky-based nonprofit animal rescue focused on saving lives through collaboration, prevention, and education. Operating entirely with volunteers, we work to address the realities of animal overpopulation in our region while creating real, lasting outcomes for animals and the communities they come from.
Kentucky shelters are overwhelmed, and local adoption opportunities are limited. To maximize lifesaving impact, we work collaboratively with trusted rescue organizations in Northern states where animal welfare laws are strongly enforced and adoption demand is high.
Animals in our care are:
Once healthy and ready, they are transported to partner rescues where they have a significantly higher chance of finding permanent, loving homes.
This approach saves lives while easing the burden on local shelters.
Rescue alone is not enough. In cases involving owned animals and litters, we prioritize long-term prevention.
When an owner chooses not to surrender a mother dog or cat, we ensure she is:
By preventing future unintended litters, we reduce overpopulation at its source while allowing animals to remain with families who wish to keep them. This compassionate, practical approach protects both animals and communities.
Whenever possible, we provide:
We offer guidance on:
Our goal is to help families keep their pets when possible and make informed, humane decisions when they cannot.
Because adoption demand is limited locally, focusing on transport allows us to save more lives while relieving pressure on Kentucky shelters. Pairing rescue with spay/neuter, education, and prevention creates a sustainable, ethical approach to animal welfare — not just today, but for the future.
KSTT facilitated 14 direct adoptions, but our primary focus is pulling dogs from overcrowded shelters, providing medical care and foster support, and transporting them to partner rescues for adoption.
